Overwhelm Me
A three part video installation to overload your senses
What is a panic attack? What is sensory overload? What is it like to experience life in a never ended spiral of thoughts and feelings that only get louder? Within project one I wanted to create the answers to these questions in an immersive experience for my audience. I began by editing three separate videos with short three second clips on a loop. Each three second clip was either found online or from my own video archive, some overly stimulating, some home-movie like, some calm. By placing all these sounds and lights and moving images in projection across the installation room I aimed to create a subtle, and growing, feeling of panic and uncomfortability. I projected each video to the size of each wall and made the sound as loud as possible in each location. The experience had three points of videos and three points of sounds, creating a rounded and immersive experience.
